Slapping of Sharad Pawar finds echo at HJC-BJP's rally

RATIA: The slapping of agriculture minister Sharad Pawar by a Sikh youth dominated the Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC)- BJP election rally in the run-up to the byelection to Ratia and Adampur constituencies, here on Saturday.
Amritsar MP Navjot Singh Sidhu said that he was against such incidents of violence. He however added, "The same charges that have been levelled against the Sikh youth should be slapped against the Congress leaders who had thrashed a youth black and blue, who had dared to show a black flag to Rahul Gandhi. We don't appreciate such conduct done by anybody.'' Sidhu added that the winds of change had begun.
Besides Sidhu, prominent among those who addressed the well-attended rally included HJC supremo Kuldeep Bishnoi, BJP national secretary Abhimanyu, Harshvardhan, an MLA from Delhi, besides other senior leaders of the state.
Taking a dig at the Congress as well as the UPA government, Bishnoi said, "Slapping incidents are a result of rampant corruption and directionless governance at the centre as well as the state. All we need is to vote an appropriate alternative to power.''
During the Hisar byelection Congress and INLD leaders used to say that the winner of this election shall rule the state. "Now you vote Mahavir Prasad and Renuka to the assembly and see the downfall of the Hooda government," Bishnoi said.
