HYDERABAD: The Telangana
political JAC has decided to hold demonstrations in all villages across
the region on December 1, in support of their demand for passing a
resolution on Telangana during the current winter session of Parliament.
The TJAC met for the first time after the 42-day sakala Janula samme on Wednesday to discuss the future plan of action during the week-long assembly proceedings and also for the parliament session.
During the five-hour deliberations among JAC affiliates, including employee JAC, TRS, BJP and CPI-ML New Democracy, it was decided to carry out a fresh phase of agitation from December 10 to mount pressure on the Centre.
The meeting also decided to hold demonstrations in front of all district collectorates on December 9 in protest against the Centre's move to backtrack on its announcement on Telangana.
The meeting demanded that state government immediately release pending salary advances to employees who participated in the 42-day strike and insisted for an end to alleged harassment of government employees for participating in the T movement. "There are reports from districts about harassment of employees, including a threat to foist cases. We want the state government to put an end to these vindictive acts," said Telangana employee JAC leader V Srinivas Goud.
The meeting also urged the state government to take a lenient view of the age limit for SI aspirants and relax it by four years.
