Judge orders kin of 2G case accused, scribes out of court

Court hammer
New Delhi, Nov 23: The excitement among relatives of the accused and ensuing commotion after grant of bail to five corporate executives in the 2G case today (Nov 23) led Special CBI Judge O P Saini to order their family members and scribes to move out of the court.

Saini, conducting the trial in the case, first warned family members of the accused to behave properly in the courtroom but their repeated celebrations disturbing the court proceedings led the judge to ask them as well as journalists present there to get out of the courtroom.

"Minus accused and lawyers, rest all move out of the court. Go out. On the last day you are creating such problems," the judge said.

Minutes before the judge directed all of them to leave the court, he had warned them saying, "It's enough. Now stop it (celebration) or I will send everyone out".

As soon as the accused and their family got the news of the grant of bail to corporate executives -- Unitech Limited MD Sanjay Chandra, Swan Telecom Director Vinod Goenka and Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group executives Hari Nair, Gautam Doshi and Surrendra Pipara -- in the case, they started congratulating each other and literally jumped out of their seats.

The celebrations interrupted the cross examination of HDFC Bank's Mumbai-based Assistant Vice President Uday Shahasrabudde, prompting the judge to direct them to vacate the court.

All accused including Raja and Kanimozhi were seen congratulating those who got the bail and their family
